A lot of curiosity and confusion floats around the teenage minds about their sexual orientation, gender identity, and queer relations in general. Unfortunately, these ideas are hardly given the right direction in schools or at home. On the contrary, data suggests that most teens are bullied or physically harassed throughout their school life for being visibly queer. Instead of getting validation and support from their peers, teachers, and parents, they usually get a lot of slack for choosing “this lifestyle.” Peer support can improve an individual’s well-being and mental health to a greater extent as compared to other support systems during the adolescent years.
